This 150kw system provides an attractive yearly ROI of over 12% as well as improving the embodied energy of the bricks produced at the plant.

Although Northcot has produced bricks for almost 100 years it is not afraid to embrace the future. The firm which operates to ISO14001, the environmental standard, commissioned the installation of 150kw on the factory site.

EH Smith were asked to advise on the installation and collaborated with chosen installation partner to ensure that investment grade products were used in the most economical way to ensure a secure return for the next 20 years.

EH Smith Teams up with Costa for UK’s First Eco Pod

EH Smith, the independent builders’ merchant, has teamed up with Costa coffee to supply solar roof panels for the country’s first “zero energy” coffee shop in Telford.

EH Smith provided all the Photovoltaic (PV) panelling for the roof of the building, which also contains a host of other eco-friendly technologies.
